It seems like Manny Pacquiao or Pacquiao’s management are scared to fight Gairy St. Clair the Black Superman. St. Clair’s trainer and manager Craig Christian knocked back a W.B.O World title shot against Scotty Harrison because he had given his word to the Pacman’s people and are now looking at missing out on the Pacquiao fight because they are not confident in Manny’s ability to handle the talent of St. Clair.
"Gairy will beat Manny Pacquiao easily and after watching a tape I gave them of Gairy I think they have decided Gairy has too much ability for Manny," Christian said. "St. Clair is too good for him and they know it. I am just upset because I gave my word and the tape that I sent them showed off too much of Gairy’s talent. He now misses out on his chance to prove he is the best. How can Manny Pacquiao look himself in the mirror and say he is pound for pound one of the best in the world?" Christian pointed to some writing on the wall of his gym and said, "Pacman should read this."
"The Man In The Glass"
"When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say."
"For it isn’t your father or mother or wife
Whose judgement upon you must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass."
"You may be like Jack Horner and chisel a plum
And you think you’re a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says You’re only a bum
If you can’t look him straight in the eye
He’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest.
For he’s with you clear to the end.
And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the man in the glass is your friend."
"You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass."
Harsh words from St. Clair’s trainer, but if what he says is true, Manny you can’t fool the Christian in the glass.
