well of course. its up to the judges to decide. but a kd and a complete domination of a round would probably warrant a 10-7 decision. but I don't think vazquez-marquez round 12 was nearly enough for a 10-7.
Can a one knockdown round be scored 10-7?

So in your opinion, two flash knockdowns deserve more credit than a knockdown and a complete, absolute assbeating for the rest of the round? Where is the logic in that?It is too harsh to rule it a 10 7 round. Its a twelve round fight and too punish the fighter for having one bad round is almost unfair. It almost gives the fighter the win based on one good round. And losses it for the other fighter. You cant make that big of an impact on the result of the fight based on one round. If he went down 2 times then yes 10-7 is justified.Comment

What would you call the 2:50 of round 12 that wasn't the segment of the Marquez knockdown then? If that wasn't domination, I don't know what was.Comment

hmm, i dont remember watching this fight, but teddy is an opportunist and when he sees something that he can stand up for without taking too much **** he'll do it in his tradional way. since there was a knockdown it should have been 10-9 alone for the effort of a knockdown, but 10-10? if miller did make a strong comeback to get that score for a round from teddy then he musta did something over-****ing-whelming, like having woods out on his feet, or the ropes holding his ass.In Miller-Woods last year, Miller was knocked down in the early part of the second or third round (can't remember which one). Then Miller came back and beat the **** out of Woods for the rest of that round. Teddy Atlas scored that round 10-10, which I thought was very interesting.Comment

Imagine a power puncher tearing into a heavy bag... that's what the rest of the round was like after Miller was on his ass in the first 15 seconds. It was devastatingly one-sided. Power punchers aren't supposed to land that many punches in a fight, let alone one round, and he did look out on his feet. I didn't see a problem with 10-10 for that one.hmm, i dont remember watching this fight, but teddy is an opportunist and when he sees something that he can stand up for without taking too much **** he'll do it in his tradional way. since there was a knockdown it should have been 10-9 alone for the effort of a knockdown, but 10-10? if miller did make a strong comeback to get that score for a round from teddy then he musta did something over-****ing-whelming, like having woods out on his feet, or the ropes holding his ass.Comment

See I'm totally against giving the 10-10 in that situation for the same reason I dont give 10-8 scores for rounds that dont have a knockdown.Imagine a power puncher tearing into a heavy bag... that's what the rest of the round was like after Miller was on his ass in the first 15 seconds. The natural inclination and easiest thing for a fighter who is hit hard is to take a knee and get a reprieve from the onslaught, however If a fighter has the internal fortitude, grit and heart to weather an onslaught and stay on his feet in hopes of not giving his opponent a two point round. It would've been MUCH easier for him to take a knee and get 10-20seconds of reprieve but no he stayed on his feet and completed the round standing. I wont punish a fighter for having heart and taking the harder road.Comment

i agree...well unless theres a foul and the ref takes a point...but i agree...
i dont score 10-8 rounds without a knockdown or ref instructing a point to be taken away...
just because a guy beats on the other guy the whole round doesnt warrent a point loss...has to be a knockdown...in my book...Comment
