Abner Mares is becoming the truth

He needs to work on his defense. He leaves himself very open when he throws combinations and a fighter with a big punch may be able to put him down. As far as his boxing and technique, its pretty on point. Hopefully, they develop Mares a bit more and he can move up to challenge Nonito Donaire. That would be a hell of a fight. I would give Donaire the edge for now, but in 2 years, Mares should be able to go punch for punch with Donaire.

he is good, ive never denied that,i just am not VERY high on him....before the right hands landed, abner showed the lack of exactly what i thought he lacked, gabi was walking the combinations by simply a strong guard and picking his spots for good powershots....

Was it just me or was Gabi's chin really that bad? the first KD i swore glazed of his gloves and barely taped him on the chin and he almost felt asleep.
