Not totally relevant, but... which of the boxers thought they won?

JMM is the better boxer, but Pac was too strong. I think the fight is a little bit overhyped...

It was a good, intriguing chessmatch, but it wasn't as good as some people claim.

Pac won the fight because of that knockdown.

And I got to say, I was dissappointed about JMM's defense, he gets hit way too much with the left hand.

I think this PAC won because of the KD is a real copout to be honest. Marquez won 7 or 8 round clearly. Of that there is no doubt. Watch the fight again. The rounds were easy to score. The fight was close yes, but the winners of each round were obvious. JMM won the fight. Yes there was a KD 10-8 but you cant say he won the fight because of that. Guys the concensus (quite a large one supposedly among boxer writers according to one ringside observer) is that JMM won the fight. PAC looked the beaten fighter and his near hysterical crying and screaming at the end showed how bloody shocked he was at the verdict. It was exactly like Barrera in 2nd Morales fight. He knew he lost and nearly jumped out of his skin when he got the verdict. JMM won, simple. But yes it was fairly close!

I'll admit, I AM a bit pissed off, not so much that I lost £30, but that I've also blown 1.8 million points on this. I really thought I won that bet.
I thought it was a draw, I feel your pain I lost 5k though so not as bad.

Pac was suprised cuz he thought it was gonna be another draw. Did you hear Buffer announce it was a split decision before he said the score. There are fighters out there that thought they won but jumping up and down once they here they were the winner. Hearing the scores makes it official to them.

Yes, that might have been true.

I watched the fight on sopcast, which is not ideal for scoring.
You get little sense of the power of the punches, and you can barely see the facial expressions.

In order to score a fight accurately, you need to be ringside.

The case with DLH-Mosley 2 proved this. Everybody who was at the fight thought Mosley won because of the harder punches.

Those who saw it on TV thought DLH won because of the nice flurries.

I won't argue too much over the verdict, as I didn't really focus on scoring nor was I there.
I felt Pac had such a strength advantage that the close rounds went to him because of the damage inflicted.

I could be wrong, I'm not a professional judge.

A lot of the punches that Lampley called were blocked by Pac's forearms. Lampley tends to call phantom punches that clearly are just - Phantom punches. Watch the fight without the commentators. I couldn't hear them coz of all the noise in the house.

The Vazquez/Marquez and the Pacquiao/Marquez fights could have both ended in a draw and I would have been happy. I am pretty much at the point where I believe that if Vaz/Mar or Pac/Mar fight one should have to get dominated or knocked out to lose b/c there fights are extremely hard to score!!!!

That may be true but at the same time JMM was hurt more then Pac throughout the fight, you could definitely tell Pac was the stronger of the two and was never in any "real" danger of getting KO'D or even knocked down for that matter, he got staggered a couple of times but never really any real danger that I could see, fight too close to score but Pac with the knockdown and the stronger punching prolly got him the fight!!!!
