Solis gets a bit lighter for every fight and he looked really good against Salif, better than before. If Solis goes down to 240 pounds he would be alright. There is no need for him go lighter than that.

          no doubt.
they should fight anyhow, the fact that solis stopped him in the amateurs is a good storyline.

not sure whats to laugh at. solis was an outstanding amateur and has won all his heavyweight fights easily. sure he still hasnt fought anyone above c level at best and seems to have got pudgy but it doesnt nescesarily mean its going to make him easy to beat. I think he'd have a good chance of beating haye again as a pro

so i don't see him beating haye.
solis beating haye in the olympics was then, this is now, and now haye can beat solis, skinny, fat, chubby whatever.
I think you maybe right about his punching power. julius long took him 10 rounds. that still doesnt mean he's going to be easy for haye. power isnt everything and even haye may or may not be that big a puncher at heavyweight. we wont know until he faces some descent heavyweights himself. I think solis and haye is a great matchup in the future

As good as Solis is looking now at the level he's fighting at is as good as Jorge Luis Gonzalez looked at this stage. Like Gonzalez, they were both Cuban heavyweight standouts with flashy amateur pedigrees. Like Gonzalez, both have greatly expanded their waistlines since turning pro.

Gonzalez owned Teofilo Stevenson in the amateurs, but just could not discipline himself to get the proper conditioning for a lengthy pro fight. As a result, he never lived up to potential.

Solis is on the Gonzalez track right now. He is in danger of letting himself get lost on the road by detouring through Burger King.

I dont think so. As the opponents get better, Solis gets better and fitter to.
He was 258 pounds in his first pro-fight and 246 in his last. I think he simply gained much weight between his last amateurfight and his first profight. But its comming down although its not nessecary that ge goes much under 240 pounds.

I dont know against long he was awfull he seemed to be getting worse, I havent seen this fight yet so maybe his terrible performance against long gave him a kick up the arse, at the moment I would favour Haye to beat Solis.
