Well who else should Cotto fight at 147? Even if he cleans up everyone but Mayweather, he isn't going to get as much credit as he would for beating Mayweather. It's extremely tough to knock Cotto for that, but it is equally tough to give credit for a Mayweather win to Cotto without him having beat him in the ring.

Every situation is different. In Cottos case, he is doing exacly what he should do. Is not his fault Mayweather is out playing WWE. Cotto is moving on, taking out a tune up. Im sure his next fight will be big, prolly PPV. This welterweight class is at an all time high, he will have plenty of options. It could be anyone from Margarito, Mayorga, Cintron. If he keeps fighting and putting up wins, Mayweather is going to look like the loser.

Right... but you get what I'm saying. If he would beat Mayweather if they were to fight, then he would be losing out on greatness in the evaluation of his career through no fault of his own (although I am not saying he beats Mayweather for sure). Blah, this part of boxing ****ing sucks IMO. Having to worry about the best fights not being made.

Its hard to look at in the middle of a carrer. Most do it after the prime is said and done. Like Jones is a great example, I think hes very overrated. Having seen most of his career already.
