He went down against Ali. He also was knocked down a million times against this bum Lye.
Foreman went down because he had thrown a ridiculous amount of punches at a guy who could take them and avoid them in the heat of Africa. In case you missed it, Foreman got up but he was too exhausted to continue.
Same thing happened to Haye himself against the 'great' 40-year old Carl Thompson. I'd rather lose to Ali.
Foreman went down twice against Lyle, guess what, he got up and KO'd Lyle.
Lyle > Mormeck, Maccarinelli & Thompson.
Fighters are stronger and are 10 times the better athletes today, just look at every other sports, athletes are much better today.
Sure.
The old timers are bunch of overrated bums, a guy like Rahman would've dominated the heavyweight division in the 70's.
A guy like Rahman who had no amateur boxing career (like 10 fights as an amateur) succeeded in today's era because he could punch. That just speaks about the lack of talent in the HW division these days.
The older version of Foreman with god on his side couldn't even KO china chin guys like Briggs and Morrison.
The older Foreman who was in his mid/late 40's couldn't.
Old George was too slow and they were retreating but when Moorer, the china chinned world champion who had beaten Evander Holyfield, came forward and tried to fight with the old Foreman, he got knocked out cold.
I'm sure this is just an attempt to get people riled up...

That is one of the most ridiculous statements ever made on Boxingscene. absolute utter bull ****. Rahman couldnt dominate the division ever. His one claim to fame is landing a sucker punch on Lewis.
Also it is a ****** thread. I like Haye a lot as a fighter but Foreman would demolish him. absolutely **** him.
This is a fantasy match up, the hardest puncher of the 70's vs. the hardest puncher of today.
I like Haye by 9th round TKO. George had ****ty Stamina when he was young, if the feather fisted Ali can stop Big George then I'm 100% sure Haye can also stop the Grill Man.
This fight wouldn't make the 2nd round... Haye would most likey be dead..
Well to be fair, Rahman was always a fairly skilled operator also. He could jab and had a good boxing brain, it certainly wasn't just power. I'm only responding to that part of the argument, I haven't read everything you guys are talking about.
Sometimes you can get away with a dodgy chin if you don't make any mistakes and fight your fight. Morrison did it against Foreman and Moorer almost did it. That was against an old Foreman though. A young Foreman was a recking ball, but nevertheless had flaws.
