MOSLEY: I just don't get it.

First off, I have respect for Mosley but here comes the downside. I hear talk not only from sites but from others as well that Mosley is simply incredible. I do not doubt his abilities but I do find his fights suspect in terms of proclaiming his greatness.

His run at 135 was awesome, He went undefeated. However, who and can you name those guys he beat ? The only legit guy was Phillip Holiday. He then went up to 147 and beat Oscar by decision, which he rightfully deserved. After the Oscar fight, who did he defeat to be considered elite or all time great.

His 135 reign was marred by weak competition and not fighting Stevie Johnston. His Ko's were against limited comp. and that is why his record shines at 135. His fame and his rep is based on the 1st Oscar fight. If he had atayed at 135 possibly he would go down as one of the best at that weight. However, he went up in weight as have others and has failed.
He lost against Winky, Forrest and Oscar on Steroids.

I welcome the abuse for this, as I was abused as a child.

He could've been a great at 135, 140..sure, but not rich...All the money is above 135...why do you think Floyd moved up from 130, Oscar, all of them.

I don't know who proclaimed Mosley as an All-time great. He is certainly an all-time great lightweight but not P4P regardless of weight classes ATG.

Who knows, I wouldn't get into it but maybe if you made a Top 50 ATG list like most historians have, there could be a spot for Mosley somewhere in there. I'm not gonna bother debating that.

If you don't put Mosley as a member of the All Time Greatest list, then you can't put Mayweather Jr. The reason why I say that is because Shane has put his career and life on the line with fights like De La Hoya, Wright, (Vargas part 1), and Forrest. These were fights where there was no guaranteed win for him nor an easy challenge. Out of those fights he is 5 win 4 Losses 2 KO's. Mayweather, on the other hand, has carefully chosen his fights to achieve wealth and belts. I'll give him credit for taking the De La Hoya, Castilla, and Judah fight...I believe that these were clear challenges and against Hatton cheated waaay too much for me to respect the win which I do believe he could have won honestly. There are other great fighters that Mayweather fought like, Corrales but he was not at his best at that moment in terms of development and Mayweather had clearly better skills than Chico...so I give that a predicted win. Mayweather has had many predicted wins as a Premiere Champion; Gatti, Baldomir, Hatton, Chop Chop Corely, Shamba Mitchell, N'Dou, Sosa, and Bruseles.

After Castilla in 2002, Mayweather didn't have a real fight until Judah in 2006. and he said it himself that its not about being the best fighter, its about making the most money as a fighter. With that said, to me Shane ranks higher than Floyd based on the fact that Shane has/had more will to be Champion and known as one of the "Greatest of All Times" than Floyd and the fights prove it.

That is a pretty accurate interpretation of his career.

They both are hall of famers. They ran through all competition. And don't try to discredit Floyd's win over Corrales. He knocked him down 5-6 times. Both were still coming up and Corrales was a KO artist. And how did he cheat against Hatton? By knocking him out?
