BARRERA: I have no desire to keep fighting.

An excerpt from his latest interview today...

    --------------------

KM: And what about you? You had talked about retiring. Now you want to keep on fighting?

MAB: I don't know. I need to talk with Richard [Schaefer] and Golden Boy, to talk about my future. If Golden Boy have good plans for me, big fights, I'm back. If they don't have big fights, I continue to clean my house, cooking, send my kids to school.

KM: You have nothing left to prove.

    MAB: No, nothing.

KM: Is there still a desire to fight?

MAB: No, it's only because I don't like to retire with two losses. I worked very, very hard all the time to win, but my last two fights were losses.

But the last two losses were to top tier fighters so theres nothing be ashamed about that, for him to feel better he should comeback in Mexico and fight and beat a couple of jorneymen.

i Hope so, his last 2 losses wont affect his legacy much. when people talk about fierce, technical masters, Barrera will always be in the conversation.

Please stay retired. We don't need to see another former champ humiliating himself.

But he will probably fight on like the rest of them. Always think they have one good fight left. What a shame.

Since him and Eric Morales wil always be linked together and compared by fans......maybe he should move up and fight WBC lightweight champion David Diaz and see if he can do better then Morales did and win.

Diaz will be half dead before Barrera can get to him... due to a certain Manny Pacquiao who has plans to fight him soon...

And who has said that he should wait until Pacquiao faces him? Pacquiao right now has his hands full with Marquez. Golden Boy Promotion could get Barrera a Diaz fight right now.

I have no desire to see Barrera fight either.. It would be too painful.

Since he is retiring though I think he should give me his Mizuno shoes that he wore in the Marquez fight since he will no longer need them and I've been looking for them everywhere.

His last two losses were not shameful at all, the Marquez fight was quite close and the Pacqiou fight appeared closer than the scoring in Pacman's favour.

The problem was Barrera didn't appear 'up' for those last two fights, the last time we really saw him 'up' for a fight was the third fight with Moralles a couple of years ago.

He probably should stay retired, he is a true legend and appears to have motivation issues!
