Ok. One of my favorite subjects........

WBA has a rule that says that if their champion wins a belt from one of the other "important" governing bodies he becomes SUPERman ermmm.. superCHAMPION that is. Then WBA picks out 2 contenders to fight for their REGULAR championship. Why? More title-fights - more sanctioning fees to the governing bodies. Money makes the world go round.

In theory you can have a zillion WORLD champions with all the governing bodies we have; WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, IBO, IBA and perhaps more. A very distasteful alphabet soup.

      BatAutotext: Damn alphabetboys.

What if there was a undisputed champion who had the WBA, WBC and IBF belts and therefore becomes a super-champion for all the sanctioning bodies......AND then all the regular champs of each organization started unifying with each other.

Then you would have 2 undisputed champion's? One a super-undisputed champ and the other just a regular-undisputed champ
        ....

          hahahaha.

They would have to make another championship. How about Interim Champion until the others have lost?

What!!!???? Does the interim championship already exist????

These alphabetboys are a sick joke. BatAutotext: Damn alphabetboys.

What about a JUNIOR champion then???..... What!!!!!!??? Oh. I see. It exists also....... sigh....

Calzaghe is superchampion, like Kessler and Ottke was. Mundine won the REGULAR championship after Kessler kayoed Beyer.

On WBA website they now state that Calzaghe is UNIFIED champion and Mundine is WORLD champion. They use so many terms it requires an academic degree in dismantling linguistics just to follow suit.

I agree. And this is why if you are a smart boxing fan, you always go by who is the Linear World Champion and you won't have a problem.

This is why the Ring Magazine championship is a good thing. They don't make you pay sanctioning fees and they don't invent other super champion or interim titles. One champion in every weight class and he doesn't get stripped for not fighting mandatories.

Sure. Then you know who the real champion is (Ring Magazine champ).

But I do have a problem anyhow. If you look at the independent ratings they are so different from the alphabet ratings. This means that we, the fans, dont get the best fights, 'cause the alphabetboys protects their champion by putting tomatocans in the top 10. They will protect the champion who gives the most sanctioning fee, Best example is Anthony Mundine who hasn't had a mandatory in a year and havent yet been ordered to take one.
