I have a question for you... have you ever trained a fighter for a fight that you knew in your heart he wasn't gonna win and lied, gave him confidence and told him everything he wanted to hear but you walked him to the ring and knew he didn't have a chance in hell.. or did you tell him the truth and how you really fealt about the situation? -
Yes, I have been in that situation...my thing, though, is that I never would tell a fighter we were definitely going to win anyway because I know so many different things can come in and spoil the party.Comment

Yeah, I understand that. Nothing is ever guaranteed, I was watching Gatti vs. Gomez and that's how I came up with the question.Comment

FROM MY WHO BEAT WHO ARTICLE... "First of all, Tyson was a two-time National Junior Olympic Champion, a National Golden Gloves Champion (1984) and an Ohio State Fair champion (in 1983) who on the way to these and other titles defeated standout amateur boxers such as Jonathon Littles (twice by stoppage), Jerry Goff, Kilbert "Junior" Pierce, Derek Isaman, Orbit Pough, Warren Thompson, Avery Rawls, Olian Alexander, Henry Milligan, and Winston Bent (who stopped Littles, Pough, Goff and Milligan). Add in the fact that Mike also scored a decision over top European (and world rated) Hakan Brock and you have quite the impressive resume."
SO YOU KNOW... - It should not read that WINSTON BENT stopped Littles, Pough, Goff and Milligan. In the parenthesis it should say that TYSON stopped those four.Comment

That's easy to say from home, you know? You want to win, hope you win, etc etc...but your sense of reality knows that if it is 1988 and u are fighting Tyson, it is 1995 and you are fighting Jones, it is 2007 and you are fighting Mayweather, etc, you'd be hard pressed to find many world class fighter who would ACTUALLY bet much money on themselvesComment

Yea, it is like Cotto is expected to win vs. Gomez....I assume he will, too, nothing against Gomez...however, Cotto should and will not go in with no regard for the guy, you know?Comment
