If you haven't seen this fight, watch it, regarded as the greatest fight ever in a British ring. Eubank was losing the fight on all scorecards and was dropped in the 11th. Eubank rose to his feet and unleashed a sickening uppercut followed by a left hook. Watson got up and was saved by the bell, after the fight he slipped into a coma and almost died.

To make matters worse there wasnt even a paramedic at the fight.
that was sad i watched that poor guy

Am surprise NO-ONE is picking up on this fight, I thought Sanchez was dead from the last punch that Naz Landed on him, I was shocked the ref allowed the fight to go on while Augie was taking alot of punishment..Everytime i watch this fight a cold chill alway come all over me.

Yeah, that was sick. Of course Gatti also had a 20 lb weight advantage due to the corrupt NY commission.

I've never thought this. But I was just watching highlights of Thompson/Eubank II on youtube the other day and it reminded me of the pasting that Eubank took, his face was well and truly messed up. He really had some balls to go up to crusierweight and take on a big hard hitting cruiser like Thompson, and to keep going and going despite the punishment.

joey gamache against arturo gatti - quite disturbing knockout

davey moore against roberto duran - waited about 3 rounds for the referee to stop it

That's a good one. Chris is cool, in that he has no reservation about admitting to fear in conversation, yet in the ring he showed none of it. Some fighters live suicidally, so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise when they fight suicidally. Eubank is different in that sense, so his courage in the ring arguably comes from somewhere deeper than some others.

There have been a bunch of fights over the past 7 years or so where I thought I was about to see someone get terminally hurt.
The Castillo-Corrales bouts are one example.

EDIT: And I really do feel for Gatti. And some of the **** he takes, the way people have celebrated or even laughed at some of the whoopings he took. Too bad.

gatti when he fought mayweather, and the only reason i put this in here, is because gatti really wasn't throwing back at all, and taking a halacious beating by floyd, and after that combo in the 6th round that floyd threw on gatti, i was like, "please stop the fight buddy. had he not stopped the fight, the ref would have eventually had to stop it, and gatti would have possibly been severly damaged because if you guys remember, floyd at one point landed 80% of hsi power shots, that's insane, and this from a guy who wasn't considered a huge puncher, but at 140, he was a killer, and he would have killed gatti imo.
