Definitely. I was a few feet away from him at the weigh in for the Chi fight and he looked like a POW with those shrunken cheeks. Making weight probably took a couple of years of his career.

Even if Cotto is beginning to have trouble making 147, I doubt he'll ever use it asn an excuse. Cotto is a consumate professional, someone who fights for himself and nobody else, and he'll definately never use weight as an excuse I don't think.

However, once Cotto goes through all the biggest fights he can at WW (Margarito/Cintron, Mayweather, Quintana 2?) I would like to see him move up to 154.

Making weight can definately destroy you...
And those 7 pounds (from 140 to 147) are really big weight to cut after you already cut 10 pounds before.
2 pounds to cut can be a trouble after big weight cut.

Cotto looks much healthier at 147.
Also 159 is not so bad, he still has a month before a fight, and with good diet program he will be probably around 152 before he starts to cut water.

Yeah, was thinking same thing....he probably wants to be around 152-155 hydrated coming into the day or so before weight-in. He can then lose those 5-8 pounds relatively easy since todays fighters have 24-36hours to rehydrate and top fighters can even afford to have doctors give them IV's.

Nah, I doubt he is having trouble making weight, he always looks like that for weigh ins.

he really is a robot, most people with his frame would be emotionally distraught at making weight.. but Cotto's programmed to make weight so it's not an issue.
