I feel naked hitting someone without gloves. My hands feel like air.
bareknuckle vs gloves.

Bare knuckle boxing was probably the same back then as it is now... Really, the main advantage offensively is cuts, you can slice up a guys face way easier with your fist and there are the obvious speed and potentially power advantages...
But the gloves really are there to protect the fighters hands, first and foremost... You have so many tiny little bones in your hands you can break or dislocate, (which is also a real *****), and a smart fighter can also use his/her gloves defensively to block punches and a million other things.. But honestly, I've seen some of the worst ever knock outs, and I mean dude is lying on the ground snoring like a jackhammer in less than a second, with bareknuckle fights... Aim obviously for the chin, the neck (it's soft too) and the nose, (eyes only in survival mode, not cool otherwise). And I wouldn't advise going to the body right away in a bare knuckle fight as leaving any part of your face open, even for a second, could end up in tragedy. Unless of course you really know what you are doing. But no matter what, wear and tear is inevitable for your hands if you don't wear some kind of proper glove, including when training; wraps help too of course. That's what I'd advise at least, well that is if you are a boxer that likes being able to move your hands properly, and want to keep it that way...Comment

I would say gloves are better than bare hands if your getting hit or hitting someone because if your hitting somebody yours hands are padded and if your getting hit your face wont get ripped up as much and won't sting as much.Comment
