Manny Pacquiao: Good morning, everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. Welcome to the chat!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Teddy Connecticut: Since your last fight with Marquez in 2004, Juan has changed his fighting style a bit, which is more of an offensive emphasis and more slugging. What do you think of this and how will it effect the fight a second time around?
Manny Pacquiao: We prepared for everything in the gym. Freddie Roach and I prepared for whatever Marquez will bring to the fight. If he's going to counterpunch, we have prepared our technique, and if he is going to box, we are also prepared to face him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ino from NYC: Whats your gameplan Pacman? Are you going to attack JMM like a super typhoon from the pacific like you did on the first fight?
Manny Pacquiao: I really don't want to tell everyone our gameplan yet. I will just invite everyone to watch on March 15. It's going to be a good fight.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebudal (North Hollywood, CA): Manny, you have stated that this will be your last fight at this weight class. If for some reason, the outcome of the fight isn't what you and I want it to be, will you consider fighting a rematch at this weight again? Lastly, your fans want you to knock out Marquez so that the decision isn't in the hands of the judges!
Manny Pacquiao: There is absolutely a clause in the contract that provides for a rematch. I've trained hard for this fight and I think if it all goes according to plan, then it might be my last super featherweight fight.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andy (Toronto): Pacman, what is your daily diet when training?
Manny Pacquiao: My daily diet has always been the same. I have chicken soup in the morning, get some vitamins from fruits and vegetables, and I get most of my carbohydrates from rice.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ace (San Diego): Hello Manny, you take punches a lot better now than you did when you were a flyweight. is it because of the added weight?
Manny Pacquiao: They are still painful, but you have to train a lot, work a lot in the gym, and if you do that, your abdominals will get tougher. It's more hard work in the gym that keeps me tougher in the ring.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
South Carolina: What is your motivation in this second fight with Marquez? Is it because he said he won the 1st fight? Leo
Manny Pacquiao: That's one of my motivations, but everything is personal to me right now. I wasn't satisfied with the results of my last two fights. I think I can improve more, and I challenged myself to be better. I'm now working harder and am more focused. I'm more dedicated to boxing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gerard Claremont, CA: If you move to lightweight, who are you going to fight first?
Manny Pacquiao: I really don't want to think about that for the moment, but I have Mr. Bob Arum as my promoter, who will plan for the next fight if we win this fight. My focus right now is to beat Juan Manuel Marquez.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
530 ENE (Chico, California): Pacquiao, if you could fight one fighter of all time, who would it be?
Manny Pacquiao: Probably Mike Tyson. I could gain weight, or he could slim down. Then I can beat him very easy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim (Pittsburgh, PA): Manny, do you feel that you are fighting for the phillipines as well as yourself?
Manny Pacquiao: Yes, I always fight for my country, my fellow Filipinos, my family, and of course I dedicate them all to God.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dexter : Manny, First off all I will be in Mandalay Bay this Saturday to cheer for you. Are we going to see the old aggressive Manny or the boxer Manny like your last fight with Marco?
Manny Pacquiao: I guess it's going to be the old Manny. My style has not really changed anyways, but we have practiced many techniques in the gym; more with the right hand. I think I'm still going to be aggressive, and I will give everyone a good fight. I know that's what attracts people to boxing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike (Parsippany, NJ): Hey Pac...I want to be ripped like you without getting too big (we're the same height). How much weight training do you do? And how much do you bench?
Manny Pacquiao: How much do you weight right now? Of course, it is always hard work and dedication. You have to put your mind to everything that you do. You have to wake up and jog early in the morning and then do a thousand situps. Then you might get ripped!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Artesia, California: Manny, what do u think you will weight during fight time?
Manny Pacquiao: I'm not sure. In my last fight, I weighed 142 pounds, so probably the same.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John (D-town Texas): Have you had any conversations about ya future mega-fight between you and Floyd Mayweather Jr.?
Manny Pacquiao: Everything is in the planning stage until we sign the contract, so I will take any fight. I am ready for any fight if it's in the right weight division, but of course I cannot fight Floyd Mayweather at 147.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve, Sac, Ca: Manny, who is the hardest puncher you have faced to date?
Manny Pacquiao: Marco Antonio Barrerra and Erik Morales both punched very hard.
Manny Pacquiao: To all the boxing fans out there, I'd like to invite you to watch my fight on Pay Per View on March 15. Or you can come to Vegas at Mandalay Bay. I promise to give everyone a good fight and make people happy. I hope everyone prays for my success. This fight is for all boxing fans out there, as well as for my countrymen.
