Great honour for Munich’s boxing fans and especially for three-time WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer who takes on Murat Mahmudov on March 14th in Munich after one and a half years of ring absence! Superstar Roy Jones, jr. is planning to come from Pensacola to Bavaria to watch Beyer who might be Jones’ next opponent. [details]

Why?
Lol.
I don't like Beyer much but at least had the courtesy to get KO'd a couple of times.
Jones stops him well early. -
I'm guessing Roy still has one or two entertaining fights left in him. Why he would waste one of those on Beyer is beyond me.Comment

Perhaps, now that I think about it, Roy doesn't really need the money. And if he loses at this point it doesn't affect his Legacy (just like Robinson or Ali losing late in their careers to far inferior fighters didn't affect theirs.) A stay busy fight makes sense.Comment

yeah at 39 if you become inactive it is not easy to get back to the shape he is in now, but it is much easier to lose the shape thats for sure!Comment

WHAT!!!???
Its a disgrace. Beyer hasn't fought since he knocked out in 3 rounds by Kessler. What could possibly qualify him for a shot at RJJ????
Why doesn't RJJ fight some worthy opposition this late in his career to perhaps re-establish some kind of credibility.
I'd say: Fight MIKKEL KESSLER. That should be great one.Comment
