Roy Jones Jr. To Face Markus Beyer Next?

Great honour for Munich’s boxing fans and especially for three-time WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer who takes on Murat Mahmudov on March 14th in Munich after one and a half years of ring absence! Superstar Roy Jones, jr. is planning to come from Pensacola to Bavaria to watch Beyer who might be Jones’ next opponent. [details]

    Why?

    Lol.

I don't like Beyer much but at least had the courtesy to get KO'd a couple of times.

    Jones stops him well early.

I'm guessing Roy still has one or two entertaining fights left in him. Why he would waste one of those on Beyer is beyond me.

The only reason that I can think of for him fighting Beyer is to keep busy, other than that it makes no sense.

Perhaps, now that I think about it, Roy doesn't really need the money. And if he loses at this point it doesn't affect his Legacy (just like Robinson or Ali losing late in their careers to far inferior fighters didn't affect theirs.) A stay busy fight makes sense.

yeah at 39 if you become inactive it is not easy to get back to the shape he is in now, but it is much easier to lose the shape thats for sure!

                WHAT!!!???

Its a disgrace. Beyer hasn't fought since he knocked out in 3 rounds by Kessler. What could possibly qualify him for a shot at RJJ????

Why doesn't RJJ fight some worthy opposition this late in his career to perhaps re-establish some kind of credibility.

I'd say: Fight MIKKEL KESSLER. That should be great one.

Markus Beyer is pretty good defensively actually.

                  Maybe a later round stoppage.

I think this is a stay busy fight for Roy, while he waits for winner of hopkins calzaghe...

Not exactly what I wanted but... I think its just to stay busy...

Pavlik is stayin at middleweight, jermain has been screwin around, johnson woods tarver and dawson are all tied up...

I suppose I understand... but I feel like BOOOOOOOO
