Should Oscar have been stripped of his 154 title...

if he had beaten Mayweather in their first fight?

I'm just curious, because he had been largely inactive after beating Mayorga... and Mayweather had never fought at 154, he looked small, and a lot less effective than he had at 147 and below. The case can be made that he wasn't a true junior middleweight, so...

Should De La Hoya have been stripped had he beaten Mayweather?

No, Mayweather would have been counted as his mandatory. Like Hatton was for Mayweather.

A little late in the game to be thinking about a WBC title Oscar no longer has anyway.

Oh yeah, and this is OBVIOUSLY a bate thread.

If you felt that you were solid in your argument the other way, then come in here and defend it if you think Oscar shouldn't have been stripped.

It seems like the same situation to me, but I'm sure that some genius is going to pull some **** out of his ass to try to justify why it was okay in this instance, but in the fight that I'm talking about where an instance like this happened it's not okay.

You know what I'm talking about.

Nothing wrong with revisiting theoretical past examples to try to disprove current incorrect trains of though I don't think.
