    I'm watching Morales-Jones right now...

And Junior Jones really might be the smaller version of Terry Norris.

A great boxer. A great puncher. A candidate for one of the worst chins in boxing.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: I saw the first two parts (boxer & puncher) in the fight. Being KO'd by Erik Morales doesn't mean you have a bad chin. But he did get KO'd a lot. Quite chinny.

Terry Norris had way better skills.

GREAT jab. Really frustrated Barerra with it.

I remember watching Morales-Jones.. The crowd was ****ing bonkers. I think they fought in a converted bullfighting ring.

Junior Jones was a very good puncher, he was the only fighter I have seen that managed to hurt Barrera so badly he was on the verge of getting knocked out if his cornermen hadn't jumped on the apron to save him.

Jones had stamina issues, he normally started fights real well then faded a bit down the stretch.

I remember Junior Jones for having the best 1-2 among the featherweights. Hell, that's all he was doing against Barrera and he beat the piss out of him. HE was chinny though

Morales hit like a mule at 122 mind you. It was a great win for Erik. Jones couldn't get away from that right hand.

Jones was one of those guys who looked spectacular at times, and had some excellent wins, but lacked that intangible element which actually made him a great fighter.

If you just looked at the names he beat you'd think he'd be a candidate for the hall of fame. Barrera, Johnson, JM Johnson, Patterson, Canizales. The circumstances surrounding those fights is a different matter though.

Like somebody already mentioned, he had questionable stamina...he had trouble finishing fights. He had a fighter named Ingle beaten until the last couple of rounds. His career was all but done after that.

He beat the best batemweight at the time. But then lost in his first title defense against John Michael Johnson, he didnt get past him.

The Canizales fight was too late but he boxed great. I think it was his frame that didn't allow him to have stamina in the later rounds cause he was a big batemweight and jr. featherweight.

How he beat Barrera the second time is just amazing seeing how he last the 12 rounds even though Barrera boxed him.

And its was Junior Jones who forced a change to Barrera into boxer we knew later on. Before that Barrera would try and run over you.

I never seen his fight with Patterson.

It was on ESPNClassic a few nights ago actually. It will probably be on again sometime soon. Give it a look. A weird fight where one judge scores it 100-90, and another scores it 95-95.
