    ********* paragraph:

Lightweight Nate "Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell (32-5-1, 25 KOs) dethroned previously unbeaten IBF/WBA/WBO world champion Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz (33-1, 17 KOs) by twelve round split decision. Both fighters excitingly traded punches over the first half of the fight. Campbell cut Diaz over the left eye with a punch in round six, however Campbell was deducted a point in that round by referee Jesus Salcedo Lopez for an alleged headbutt. From that point things went south for the champion as Campbell became more and more in control. Diaz' eye was swollen shut at the end. Scores were 114-113 Diaz, 115-112, 116-111 Campbell.

      Was it controversial scoring?

I agree. A lot of people thought Williams had the best chance of beating Mayweather.

Hmm, at least the homeless crazy guy in the alley begging for change was mumbling something about Campbell.. Quintana's chances were about as good as Poland defeating one of it's neighbors in an armed conflict..

I watched Showtime last night - both events, then caught the end of the Peter fight.

Taping the Campbell fight now off HBO. I'll check it out later tonight probably...

              These weren't shockers.

In Williams' case, everyone should have seen that coming. Williams is a club fighter.

Diaz just came up against a guy on a warpath. Nothing against Diaz at all, Nate Campbell just fought a great fight

Which one do you consider the bigger upset?

I definately have to go with Campbell-Diaz. I wasn't very sold on Williams considering how badly he did in the later rounds against Margarito. I really though Diaz was the real deal though, considering he had already collected 3 belts by beating established champions such as, Acelino Freitas and Julio Diaz. Nate Campbell showed that he is a hell of a lot better than a 31-5-1 record showed before the fight.

Similarly Carlos Quintana really showed up big like no one thought he was capable of doing against Williams.

                  What do you all think?
I was defintely more surprised by Quintana's win. I considered putting a few bucks on Nate. Can't say the same about Quintana.
