    Max Kellerman

may be a total fanboy sometimes, and seriously comes up with some of the dumbest phrases I have ever heard, but that dude really does know his ****.

He is still under 40 years old, and knows books of boxing historical knowledge. I have to say, I was impressed that he pulled Gene Tunney's name out tonight Lampley said only Lewis and Marciano were heavyweight champions that beat everyone they fought.

Also, Max gets a lot of flack on here because he seems to favor slick boxing when he analyzes fights, but I don't see anything that is seriously wrong with that. It's not like he is the only one. There are plenty of judges that are swayed by slick boxing over power punching (such as the panel that scored Spinks over Mayorga). There are also people like Jerry Roth to balance it out, just like there are plenty of boxing historians who don't particularly like slick boxing.

If he could cool the fanboyism down a bit and completely get rid of the ****** phrases he thinks are funny, he would actually be a great replacement for Merchant. The historian who doesn't constantly complain during boring fights. A very nice prospect.

If he's gay that's okay, as long as he doesn't sound like he's infatuated with certain fighters.

His judging is OK and he is getting better on the air but I'd still listen to Merchant over him any day. The thing that got to me was when he compared Malignaggi to Billy Conn.

They should have included Ingemar Johansson as a heavyweight champion who beat everyone he fought.

I used to think that too, but someone correctly pointed out on another site that Bowe didn't get a win over Buster Mathis Jr. It was ruled a "no contest" or something. Actually Bowe was damn lucky he wasn't DQ'd in that fight.

I thought they had a rematch but it was actually Elijah Tillery who DQ'd himself against Bowe and lost the rematch.

So technically yes, Bowe hasn't beaten everyone he has ever fought but he has never left a loss unavenged (his only loss to Evander Holyfield).

Very good. I wouldn't have known that. It does seem strange that he lost the rematch and rubber though, because Lewis avenged his losses. Johannson avenged his win.

I think Bowe probably qualifies to be honest. Why was it a NC?
