I've put cash on a Maskaev upset tonight

The lay off has worried me, but the revelation that it will be open scored has further increased my belief in slapping down £15 worth of clams (about $367) on Mask.

Remember when Peter stopped looking as hot when he stepped up from fourth tier competition, so they put him back in with an old Audley Harrison victim (Julius Long) to reinvigorate his stock?

Obviously I realise that Peter's technical ability is unrivalled in the division's history - not even Matt Skelton is as gifted - but I don't even believe his punching power is all that. He's okay sparking a few cans, but what elite boxers has he stopped?

I wouldn't be surrpised if he DOES bet Oleg, but Oleg's got a good record of KOing Negrons.... like I say, I've got 15 clams on him.

Hey Anorak, I was wondering, were you privaleged enough to see Abraham Okine vs. Shannon Briggs?

Also, what are your thoughts on the Jameel McCline - Sam Peter fight?

i feel peter is a good fighter, but far overrated. especially in the punching power department! he is not all tht big a puncher, and if mccline managed to knock him down, mask should be able to do the same! the layoff, and 39 yrs of age may hurt mask. i would like to see him win, and i may bet a few bucks myself! cheers

I didn't actually see that Briggs bout - when was this? I usually like to watch Briggs as he's normally in barnburners.... I burnt Briggs vs. Liakovich and Briggs vs. Imbragomov to disc and watch them daily.

As for McCline-Peter, it's further belief that Mask has a chance to win. I'd actually like to see Peter KOd - not because I don't like him, but because I think it'd be aesthetically pleasing with that little dance he does.

Peter throws some clubbers but he's not a crude boxer. He counterpunched with James Toney in the first fight, tightened up his work in the second so Toney had no openings. No sense reminding me that Toney was shot, it still took skill to box with him the way Peter showed he could

Ive had a £50 double on Haye & Diaz. It returns £97 and hopefully should easily come in.

Yeah, he DID improve for James Toney, a roided-up, overweight, never-really-a-proper-heavyweight-anyway s*** (you told me not to mention he was shot) fat ass. I noticed that these improvements didn't extend to the McCline bout.

I found Okines defence particularly impressive.
