Lee is the greatest Martial Artist of all time. It's not even a close second, the gap is much too wide.

Bruce is without doubt the most influential name in Combat sports and the Combat arts in the last 100 years, no doubt. The amount of people inspired by Bruce to take up martial arts of one kind or another cannot be quantified.

I think for this weight class, Bruce would have been top level at any combat sport he tried. He just had so much speed and power for his size. I don't believe he could have beaten anyone in the world.

But it's his teaching and philosophy which was truly ahead of his time. You take the opening scene of Enter the Dragon. This was MMA before anyone had any concept of modern MMA.

Bruce also preached to not limit one's training by tradition. He used weight training at a time when Martial artists and boxers stayed away from them like the plague.

I still get chills whenever i put a Bruce Lee movie in my dvd player. Crappy production values, crappy supporting actors, Bruce's charisma was light years ahead of everyone

Bruce Lee movies still kick ass.

I recall seeing a bunch of movies of Lee as a kid, we all watched Kung Fu movies especially Bruce Lee movies. As i got older i realized many of those Bruce Lee movies weren't the real Bruce Lee but actors with his name and style/mimics but they were great movies.

He made good action movies while he was alive. And i liked the movie they made about him a few years ago.

Bruce Lee was severely overrated, and most of his accomplishments are myths perpetuated by himself and the media to promote his films, he was obviously a talented martial artist and the best at what he did, but his legacy just seems to snowball as the years pass.

I agree with this. The Muhammad Ali of martial arts.

The Shaolin monks acknowledges his physical abilities, but not his claimed "best martial artist".

People proclaiming Lee as the ultimate fighter or martial artist do so without the required knowledge.
I admire him for his knowledge and philosophies, as well as his physical talents. But to go from there and all the way to the greatest fighter ever...
                  Plain ******.

OH please don't tell me you really believe that?

FACT: Way too many people talk about Bruce Lee like he was some kind of action-figure with supernatural power.
