He'd be better off dropping the WBO title. Although, as the MW division is pretty ****ty these days, maybe Lockett is the best of a sorry bunch.

Pavlik might as well move up to SMW as that's where the action is these days.

I'm happy for Lockett that he has got his shot at the world title, but I give him close to no shot at winning at all. He has fought no one worth mentioning and I just see him being completly outclassed. Good domestic fighter but nowhere near world level, still he'll give it his all. Someone like Andy Lee would box circles around Lockett btw.

There's plenty of talent at the Middleweight level, and frankly, I don't think Pavlik is ready to fight the guys at Super Middleweight. He might carry the extra 8 pounds well, but there's so much going on there right now, that he should enjoy a reign as MW champ. Why not be like Hopkins or Hagler, who disciplined themselves to stay the weight and actually defend a championship? Guys are so eager to move towards the money that there's really no meaning or pride left in becoming a champion. I hope he takes on the mandatory's for a few years, maybe fights Winky, and then moves on if he simply can't stay at 160.

This is great. Pavlik needed a soft touch but as long as he doesn't sleep this guy, then it should be a showcase for him. Pavlik has the tools to be a long reining middleweight titleholder and could very well go down s one of the greats.

Lockett is not in Pavlik's class, he hasn't even fought the best middleweights in the UK, let alone Europe and the rest of the World. He will be out boxed and out gunned if this fight goes ahead.

Pavlik will stop him by the 4th. round.
