Barrera vs Morrales

Any one share some info and tell me why this guys hated each other????

They grew up on different sides of the track. Barrera called Morales a poor boy, Morales called Barrera a ***, Barrera punched Morales in the face. I believe this was all after the first fight and right before the rematch. The intensity of the first fight and Barrera feeling he got robbed didn't help matters either. I thought Barrera won the first fight thanks to that joke of a knockdown call, but I definitely had Morales winning clearly in the 2nd fight, which pissed Morales off because he was undefeated at the time. All the hate is understandable.

I'm sure there are far more knowledgeable posters on this site than me, but I believe that, on top of the normal rivalry that exists between two champions, there was the issue of social position in Mexico. Morales has Indian Heritage and they had very different upbringings

Yeah that part about the heritage is true too. Barrera insulted Morales by calling him a poor Indio or something

Morales is from Tijuana and Barrera is from Mexico City.

After their great first fight Morales gave Barrera credit but Barrera wouldn't have it and was mad because he felt the HBO fighter got the decision.

Going into their rematch Barrera said that Morales looked like an Indian and Morales said that Barrera was a ***. At their pre fight press conference Barrera got in Morales' face and told him to call him a *** to his face. Erik did call him it and Barrera punched him in the mouth and Morales threw 3 punches at him that missed.

The rematch happened and Barrera this time got the decision and Morales said they gave it to the HBO fighter and stormed out of the ring because he was so pissed at the decision.

There was also a rumour that they had to be pulled apart at a Soccer game.

Why would boxers attend a ***** sport like soccer where acting is part of the game?
