Peter will stop him in about 8 rounds. Maskaev is not taller than Peter so he will not use the uppercut on the inside, which was the punch that MCcline hurt him with. Peter also has the advantage in hand speed and punching power.

Maskaev will try to box but i see Peter eventually catching up with him and stopping him. Oleg's slow hands and poor footwork is going to cost him in this fight.

Maskaev also has a weak chin. All of his 5 losses are by knockout. Oliver MCcall, Kirk Johnson, Corry Sanders, Lance Goofy Whitaker, and David Tua.

Maskaev is about 3 inches taller than Peter last time I checked.

Do you really think Peter hits harder than Rahman? And Oleg lasted 20 rds in there with him before stopping him twice.

Anyway, I think it'll be a closer fight than you think, even though Maskaev is 39 and hasn't fought in 15 months.

It wasn't Corrie Sanders who KO'd Maskaev but Corey "T-Rex" Sanders.
Maskaev was also KO'd by 'Goofi' Whitaker and Kirk Johnson. All of them are mediocre fighters.

That's in the past though, he showed some ability to take punishment against Rahman.
But... he is too damn old and inactive to bet on, no one can really expect how he will perform.

You mean he was stopped by feather fisted Tua (16 first rd KOs, including Moorer and Ruiz, Maskaev's 11th fight BTW and he still went 11 rds), McCall (KO'd Lennox Lewis) and Sanders (18 first round KO's)? Wow, he must have a glass jaw.

Do you really think Peter hits harder than Rahman? And Oleg lasted 20 rds in there with him before stopping him twice.

Peter was actually listed as being 6'2 when he knocked out Tarus Sikes on show time. Boxrec and other sites has the states wrong. They also listed Chad Dawson at 6'3 when he is only 6'1 and Joe Louis as 6'2 when he said himself that he was 6'1.

The Corry Sanders that knocked out Maskaev has only 15 knockouts. Hes not the Sanders that knocked out Klitschko. He was a lesser opponets that Maskaev was suppose to beat.

Also, MCcall is not that big of a puncher. He caught Lennox when he wasn't expecting the punch and that was back when Lewis had a shaky chin.

Lance Whitaker knocked out Maskaev with a soft short right hand that shouldn't have had that effect on him.

Also, yes, Peter hits a lot harder than Rachman and has the better knockout percentage.

If you think that Maskaev will win, then why don't you bet?

peter isnt an awckward counter punching southpaw that crouches low,,so wlad shouldnt have any trouble shooting his right hand off. the bigger question is,,,does manny have him clinch peter every time theyre inside again. I sure hope not,,,I'd like to see wlad take peter out with his hook

those string of knockout losses to maskeav all happened in succession. it seemed more like he lost his confidence after the johnson fight,,then having a glass chin. his chin obviously is no better than average though
