Todays sun:
NIGEL BENN says the winner of Saturday night’s cruiserweight crunch between David Haye and Enzo Maccarinelli will be the fighter who remembers most what it is like to lose.
The pair meet for the WBC, WBA and WBO crowns at London’s O2 Arena.
And former super-middleweight king Benn said: “Both know what it is like to be knocked out, Haye lost to Carl Thompson and Maccarinelli to Lee Swaby.
“It’s the worst feeling in the world.
“On the occasions it happened to me, it drove me on in my next fight.
“I remembered how hurt I was, how my pride suffered and the winner on Saturday will be the boxer who can recall exactly how it felt.”
Haye has won by KO in 19 of 21 fights while Maccarinelli has stopped 21 of his 28 victims.
Benn added: “This really is a 50-50 fight. If it’s to finish early, I’d go for Haye because of his explosive punching power.
“But if Maccarinelli can drag the fight into the later rounds after softening up Haye with his wicked body shots, I’d go for him.”
