What is Gomez thinking?

He's a comedian with some of this stuff he's saying.

I wouldn't go as far as saying he's a comedian, I think he has some very good points. I don't think that Cotto is the best "boxer" in the game today and Id o think people underestimate Gomez' ability to box.

I think Gomez can box with Cotto and even out box him if the fight stays in that mode but Cotto won't just box with him and he will be too strong for Gomez to deal with.

Being the better pure boxer doesn't win you the fight, sometimes people are just too big and strong for you to handle, as was the case with DLH vs Hopkins.

If you are a huge, huge, HUGE underdog in a fight, you should keep your mouth shut and come to fight. Talking all this nonsense, even if it there are some good points made, does NOTHING but motivate the other guy.

Bottom line: If you are the better fighter, you have a chance to prove it in the ring. Talking about it does no good. That's my point.

Honestly man, what have you seen from Gomez to suggest he can outbox Cotto or any top level fighter? Especially when more skilled fighters such as Mosley, Judah, Quintana, and Malignaggi weren't able to do so.

I don't get why people feel Gomez is wrong for saying what he said. IMO Gomez said nothing disrespectful he just gave his opinion on his and Cotto's ability. What Gomez said to me is not really talking ****. If Gomez truly feels this way why shouldn't he say it? If you are truly better than somebody that person having extra motivation should not be the reason they beat you.

I like people with confidence in they're abilities and that is what Gomez seems to have to me.

Interesting observation. I wonder if anyone can get under Cotto's skin? In all of the pre-fight pressers that I've seen, Cotto doesn't really say anything or look mad. If Cotto and Mayweather fight, Floyd will undoubtedly try to get under his skin like he always does. It would be weird to see Cotto flip out at a presser.!!
