It wasn't handelled to him by Calzaghe, who had the other 3 major belts. Secondly, you talk **** about a great boxer and a great man that you never saw boxe before. We all know that Joppy is shot but it was Bute's first optionnal defense, his next fight might be against Lacy or Green in May. So, name 1 American SMW that would beat Bute and explain why you think he would win. And finally, get used to Bute, because you will have him in your face for ten years and many so called big names will fall. Jermain Taylor is a project after Bute fights his mandatory in September, winner of Andrade and Steiglitz. Right now the only 2 men he is not ready to fight are Calzaghe and Kessler, the first one want's to fight at LHW and the other one he will fight in 2009. Get your game straight *******!!!!

People mentioned the likes of Gavin Rees and Allan Green when they try to distinguish the worst active Champion. I feel Lucian Bute is the current worst "Champion". Bute shouldn't even be the Champion, he got it gifted to him unfairly by Joe Calzaghe vacating it.

When did Allan Green become champion? Yeah Bute fought a washed up Joppy, but quite a few guys take an easy test their first defense. Plus if you actually watch him you can see he's pretty talented. He has good handspeed, throws good combos, and moves around the ring pretty good.

I'm sorry but I said that Bute for now, would not quite be ready to fight JC or MK. Give the guy a break, he has only 22 fights. The other two have over 40 fights to show for. So, to be more precise, Bute will be ready to face anybody in about a year ( 3 more fights ), including Calzaghe and Kessler.

Bute has all the tools in his box to be the next Super Champion at SMW.

The best is yet to come.....
