If he fought smarter behind his killer jab, he might have won.

Although, sometimes I wonder if Floyd took his foot off the gas at some points in the fight to make it closer than it should have been in order to set up another money-rich fight for him down the road.
    please shhh.

You don't think a guy who isn't fighting Cotto because the paycheck is too small would not have done something like that to make a rematch more justifiable?

I'm not sure if that's what happened, but I can definitely see it happening, just like I can see Floyd throwing the rematch to make sure he gets a rubber match for another huge paycheck.

I really hope not though, on any account.

you are pathetic my friend. sorry but thats how I feel. you are a brainwashed delusional newbie.

the PAY CHECK WOULDNT BE TO SMALL! Cotto is a SUPER STAR ...and the fight would make a lots of doe. up there with Ricky Hattons's fight. PLUS its a meaningful fight that makes sense! go away. Floyd wants the EASIER MONEY, not the MOST..

he fought Miotchell and Judah for less then what he wouldve gotten for Marg ..END OF STORY.

Wow, so apparantly you didn't get the memo that I was agreeing with you how ****** this is.

Floyd's logic: "The paycheck with Cotto is too small."

Rest of the world: "Bull****, it is more than big enough considering you have already fought Oscar."

For being such an ******* sometimes (it's actually pretty rare when you aren't), you really should make sure that you have interpreted a post correctly, otherwise you look like a jackass... now being case-in-point. Kudos.

what YOU said was Floyd isnt fighting Cotto because the paycheck was too small..and he may have even went as far as too make his fight with Dela Hoya closer by laying off a bit to assure a rematch..

that whole logic is dumb. period.sorry. dont be mad and stop callimg me names.

Oscar fought the best he could the last time they fought and couldn't get the job done, what makes people think he could now when he is a year older?
I'm not disagreeing with you but do you think Floyd Mayweather Sr. will have no positive affect on Oscar De La Hoya ????

I think he can make it a lil more intresting.

Don't ever tell me to stop calling you names... you can't go one post without ripping into me. ****, you called me pathetic in your previous post.

I am not using smoke screens or mirrors... I am completely serious. I do think Floyd is playing the role of money maker now, instead of boxer. I could see him making the Oscar fight closer in order to make a rematch more appealing. Not that I'm saying it happened, but why not? Considering Floyd is taking a meaningless fight instead of a meaningful one with Cotto for money, why is it beyond the realm of consideration that he would try to make the big money rematch as appealing as possible?

And I really was saying that from Floyd's perspective, Cotto's match isn't bringing in enough money, which is ridiculous. There is not a single fight in the sport that is more anticipated IMO... Even moreso than Pacquiao-Marquez or Hopkins-Calazaghe. He really is just too money-hungry for the good of the sport.

Didn't really look that easy for him the first time around. But then, I'm not one of those that believe Floyd slacked off so that he could generate interest in the rematch.

Lol, I guess I'm never going to live this down.

I am not sure that he did it. I'm not even sure if I think that. I just said that it is a possibility.
