If winky called him out in the past I understand that(although i've never really heard much on this subject), but forrest just barely got back in the loop. He was out of it for a while. When he called out Oscar the second fight with Mayweather was done. Winky doesn't have a very crowd pleasing style also.

I'd say Oscar kept himself away from Winky, as there were no pressure on him to fight Wright.
It's a fight Winky would win 11 times out of 10. Oscar knows.
Probably, then he lost to mayorga.

Winky calls out everyone that can get him paid yet no one fights him. I know wink is a good fighter but I don't think people avoid because he's that good, he's just boring to watch. He jabs then just blocks his face.

DLH ducks no one. He goes where the money is. I was surprised he fought Hopkins, I thought Hopkins would kill him. He almost did. lol

You can make a case for him ducking Winky but that seems to be about it. That IS his legacy, to fight the best of the best.

And it's extremely impressive that no fighter whatsoever made De La Hoya look out of place in that ring.
Close decisions, sure. But win or lose close decisions against the best for over a decade is mighty impressive.

Imagine a 100m sprinter being absolutely one of the best for over a decade, never losing by more than a few feet.
It can be argued that that is more of an achievement than just being the best for two or three years and then slide away.

He has ducked Vernon Forrest, a guy from his era, who has beaten the guy 2x that he Oscar has lost to 2x.

Even more, Winky Wright, considering how long Oscar has been at 154, it's amazing he never even thought about fighting this guy. Winky defeated the two guys (tito & Mosley) that represents 3 losses combined on Oscar's record.

Not only that, but these guys have been calling him out for a long time. He Drag Queen never maned up. Of course mainstream Oscar fans would never admit this.

Yes he did, then he lost to Mayorga but he has been calling DLH out recently, before the rematch with Mayweather was set.

I agree, Winky's style is all wrong for DLH.
