I think a fight in an outdoor stadium (like Yankee Stadium) would be BEST for boxing as a whole.

We've had tons of fights in vegas in casino arenas but what about taking it back to the old school a little bit and have the fight in a football or baseball stadium with 70K+ plus people that can attend?

I think it would be a huge draw and could bring Boxing even further into the limelight again...and if things go right in these huge stadium fights boxing might return to its earlier form where top fighters are household names.

Lets face it (for those saying its unfair for mayweather) cotto will be the crowd favorite even in vegas.

De la hoya v. mayweather - crowd for de la hoya
hatton v. mayweather - crowd for hatton

those are his two recent fights and look what happened...its de la hoya's second home i know but its also mayweather's second home as well...de la hoya was still a HEAVY crowd favorite.

With hatton what happened was his fans came from all over the world to see the fight and trumped mayweather fans heavily...all you could hear was hatton cheers and chants all night...

i think if cotto fights mayweather in vegas it will be the same. the crowd will favor cotto and the Puerto Rican fans will still make the trip.

So i dont think it makes all that much of a difference.

And with de la hoya v. mayweather the shots not landing for de la hoya will still cheered throughout the fight and mayweather still won on points.

I believe if they bring in some of the best judges in the sport it doesnt matter.

I'm for the stadium fight because its BEST for boxing...it opens the doors again for more huge fights in outdoor stadiums like in the old days when boxing was dominant in the united states.

Vegas probably makes more money. What makes the atmosphere more electric? 50,000-60,000 fans does. Nowhere in Vegas can do that, but Mayweather would never fight in New York.

Beating Margarito/Cintron will be a tough task for him. If he can do that Mayweather has no right to keep avoiding him. They'd have to strip his title.
