Marquez-Vazquez was better than anything UFC had last night, damned shame.

ESPN is not partial to boxing. Niether are most of the journalists they have on their TV shows. One guy brought up Pavlik and no one knew who he was, then they laugh and say boxing is dead. Jim Rome is the only guy who seems to give boxing a lot of pub.

Yea, Jim Rome was the only one talking about it on Friday on his show. He had that showtime announcer there..forgot his name. I think its Al Berinstain??

I have no doubt that ESPN choose to omit this fight from their telecasts but maybe I'm wrong. Did anyone catch any mention of this fight on ESPn or any major sports outlet. Why is boxing not shown on regular ESPN ? Unbelievable that poker, fishing and worlds strongest man in the world make it on the regular Espn but boxing is relegated to its bastardized version.
they also show world arm wrestling championships. it really is a shame.

Sometimes its due to them not being able to get highlights from the networks such as Showtime and HBO. I dont know about this past fight, but if you notice when they do cover a big fight, sometimes they have to do it with still shots...You cant blame ESPN for not wanting to show still shots as highlights, you have to blame the networks who dont release the footage. I dont know why the networks dont realize ESPN is like free promotion and just give them the footage.

Ya but thats the next week after the saturday...Like when Pavlik fought Taylor, ESPN showed highlights from the fight that night, but no punches were landed because thats all HBO would release im guessing, I dont know whos fault it is, but I dont think HBO or Showtime likes to release the footage immediately, which is the time it should, because thats when people care.
