      We don't need them.

      See Ray Mancini-Deuk-Koo Kim.
So fighters haven't died in 12 round fights? There have been no statistical increases or decreases as far as I'm aware..

What if the score is even and the round is scored even?

Actually.. a shorter fight encourages more excitement, regardless of what the shorter fights were implimented for. You have less time, and more energy towards the end of the fight. Why WOULDN'T you fight harder?

Does ANYONE think that Vazquez could have surged QUITE like that in the
15th round? I doubt it, highly.

Some of the greatest fighters ever (Arguello, Sanchez) and slow starters all across the board would not have been nearly as successful without their ability to separate the champion from the pretenders in rounds 13, 14, 15. It is not-so-common knowledge that the real driving force behind the banning of 15 round fights was the TV networks, who wanted to be able to squeeze an entire fight into an hour time slot.

As has been noted occasionally by others, it could potentially also undermine the alphabet soup organizations if the lineal champion just ignored their mandates and justified himself as the best by fighting the 15 round fights.

The medical and scientific evidence has proven that completely unfounded.

I think Vazquez would have knocked Marquez out in the 13th if it were a 15 round fight.

No, the additional damage at that level of hydration can prove to be lethal to many. Especially with how the fighters drain themselves to make weight
