All countries seem to favour their own fighters a little, but Germany seems to be the worst place to go, the old cliche 'You'd have to knock them out to get a draw' seems to ring true. Put your self in the position of a champ that is being called out by a German alphabet champ with zero losses...would you risk the chance of being on the receiving end of an 'Ottke'?

Joe Calzaghe traveled to Germany to beat the Mario Viet he also offerd Ottke 50-50 split for a fight in Berlin in 2002 after Hopkins had just pulled his famous double money duck of Calzaghe.

Ottke said no by the way.

Joe would have beaten Ottke to a stoppage, so it doesn't suprise me Ottke chickened out, but generally would you risk it?? I was thinking more of poor old Robin Reid

Yes but I would use David Hasselhoff as my ring entrance music, then the germans would love me.

Calzaghe went there because he was offered ridiculous amount of money to fight over there even though he had already Knock Mario Veit out in round one in the UK, Even i would go over there if the opponent is that crap..Calzaghe wasnt in any danger by going over there at all.

Nah, its a joke down there, bad decisons go on all the time, particulary during the sven ottke era, though oktte's fights were obviously fixed, he was actually a good counter puncher, mind you, didnt dawson go to Germany and beat adamek?
