Forum members were up in arms about Steward saying Lee could take Pavlik right now. Steward was not "crazy talking" rather he was making calculated moves to associate Lee's name with Pavlik. Manny's hyping of his own fighter resulted in Lee signing on with Top Rank promotions this week.

"We want people to start looking at these two guys together and thinking of them fighting each other," Steward said. "Bob is the path to get us a shot at Kelly and I like working with Bob and his staff."

Lee will not fight Pavlik before the year is out, but all of the recent call outs have laid firm groundwork for the promotion of the fight.

I am a Lee fan and I believe he is not ready to fight Pavlik just yet. But there is/was in no harm in saying he is ready to fight him right now.

I am fan of both, but i agree lee is not ready yet! as of right now i think kelly wins! in a year or 2 who knows! good move by lee's camp, and Arum! Either way he would keep the middleweight champ in his organization! so long as neither lose b4 they fight each other of course!

Yeah it seemed Manny was up to something and this move seemed to work out. Signing with Arum and Top Rank is a pretty good move for Lee, which obviously sets him up in the future if he keeps winning to fight Pavlik.

that is a pretty interesting observation. sounds like classic manny intellect at work here. lee may not be ready yet, but it makes for an interesting near future fight. one to look forward to.
