De La Hoya should really try to fight him, even before Mayweather. I can see De La Hoya beating Pacquiao, but to sell De La Hoya-Mayweather 2 would be even more effective.
They could sell it with the "Now that De La Hoya has beaten the #2 p4p fighter in the sport, the #1 and #2 p4p fighters are facing off in the first time since Julio Casear Chavez and Pernell Whitaker."
Of course, everyone with their right mind realizes this wouldn't be the case, but I think Golden Boy Promotions could still really sell it to get people more interested.
This way, Mayweather would hopefully would fight Cotto in the meantime and we will all be ****ing happy.
Though if Pacquiao beats Marquez he's gonna screw me over in points. Though a price well worth paying if I can see Mayweather/Cotto and De La Hoya/Pacquiao before Mayweather and De La Hoya 2.
