Wladimirs next opponent most likely Tony Thompson

This has been stated by the Klitschko team at various sources. It looks like they would like to take Thompson as soon as possible, hopefully around May or June.

Yeah, that would be ideal; it looks like Wlad is sensing some urgency and will fight 3 times this year…

I think he should take the Thompson fight as it would free him of the WBO's mandatory for a while, Povetkin's management should give him a few more fights before they utilise their mandatory position so it should free up Klitschko to look for another unification fight.

Klischko also has to fight Povetkin sometime in the next few months as well..

I don't think Povetkin's management will force the fight just yet, they know he's not ready.

I hope it's Thompson. It would make for a fairly competitive fight, and the WBO wouldn't be demanding Wlad face any other mandatory opponents for a long time after Thompson has been taken care of.

That would be a horrible management decision by Povetkins people to match him up against Klitschko at such an early stage.

Ye it will proly be Klitschko vs Thompson first prolly for may or june and then if things go as planned Vitali might fight the winner of Peter Maskaev and Wlad vs Povetkin in Germany on one card, thats what they are planning. One thing I dont get is if Wlad looses somehow to Thompson does he loose both belts cause Thompson is the wbo mandatory?
