He happened to walk into a pub just as I was leaving, wearing a Wales rugby jersey. Ask him where he's from, and he will tell you he is Welsh with Italian ancestory. The only reason he was born in England is because his parents happened to be passing through at the time. I have NEVER heard Joe acknowledge any Englishness.

Mitchell had just been robbed by Sven Ottke, else he would have had a title. Reid had previously been the champion, and would have been again afterwards had he not got robbed by Ottke also. It's like I said earlier, it's not Joes fault that there were no stellar names in his weight class, just the same as it is not going to be Pavliks fault when his career as a champion is marred by lacklustre defenses. How many names are there in the middleweights at the moment? Not many, and he has already beaten the really big names. Joe and Kelly were in the same boat at this point in their careers, only Joe had been a champion for 9 fights already I think. Names dry up and the fighter takes the **** for it, doesnt change the fact that Pavlik gets spanked inside 10.
