Joe Calzaghe is Welsh, Ricky Hatton is English. These are not the same thing.

So you think they would both claim allegiance to the U.S.S.R? Or that their is no tension between these countries. Or that their is not Ukrainian pride? dumbComment
Can a black person living in America tell me if they get pissed of being called an African-American? why do people call you African if you were not born and have never even been to Africa? Is it just because you're black you obviously came from Africa? I would personally find that offensive.Comment
Why am I constantly reading about "will the British fans (when they say British they using it meaning "English", the dumb ****ers) boo like they did for Hatton?"
Sure, Joe will have SOME fans from England, but the majority of his fans are a completely different nationality with their own culture, history (a history that's a LOT older than America's) and their own language.
Why do I have to wade through this ****** "other countries = scary" bull**** all day long.
The history of America is comparatively young compared to that of the rest of the world. Why is a baby country that came from ours bitching all the time?
Never been to a Cardiff game then? Never watched the Welsh rugby team play then go for a piss up?
Wales although officially a different country is really an extention of England the just have accents although not even as strong as Geordie or Scouse. same laws same language same **** holes same ****heads.
Only difference is the English drink Lager the Welsh Guiness.
Wales is as different as Newyorkns to people from Jersey! slight little differences but its the same blood.
The American anthem will get boo`d just as bad and good Americans are pathetically over patriotic.Last edited by Karlos81; 02-28-2008, 04:22 AM.Comment

Things I've learned in this thread:
a) The Welsh and English accents are the same. Erm ... I'd try spending any time in either country before making such a ridiculous comment. There's probably 100 different accents in each. Although avoid North Wales - that's just good sense. And Stoke. Shudder.
b) Calzaghe is English really, even though he only lived there for 3 months and neither of his parents are.
c) your passport determines your nationality. Which means that 80% of people living within the good old US of A are without nationality. I suppose it's better than the alternative.
I know you're all busy shooting each other and making sure your trailer isn't swept away in the latest hurricane, but it's no excuse for a poor education. If you can get your fat fingers to turn on your PC and find this website then it's a short leap to www.geta****ingclue.comComment
I don't think the Americans take Welsh history lessons to be honestComment
You talk about American ignorance but then you show that SAME damn ignorance. Yank or Yankee is a term used for Americans from the North East. A person from Texas, California or Florida would never be referred to as "yank".
BTW Hatton and Calz are both British, live with it.Comment
No ****ing ****, Sherlock.
But this doesn't go quite that far back, because then the phrase "African-American" wouldn't differentiate anyone from eachother.
And when they mean "antcestry", they mean the possible furthest back tracable bloodline. Which is at earliest 100 BC.Comment
