Joe Calzaghe is Welsh, Ricky Hatton is English. These are not the same thing.

Sure, Joe will have SOME fans from England, but the majority of his fans are a completely different nationality with their own culture, history (a history that's a LOT older than America's) and their own language.

Why do I have to wade through this ****** "other countries = scary" bull**** all day long.

The history of America is comparatively young compared to that of the rest of the world. Why is a baby country that came from ours bitching all the time?
Yes the US was originally formed by British, and some Scottish, Welsh, and Irish. Great. Hundreds of years have past. Our we really your baby country? Considering we have the military power to eliminate whatever we please.

I don't know any blacks who call themselves African-Americans. thats a politicians term.

Never been to a Cardiff game then? Never watched the Welsh rugby team play then go for a piss up?

Wales although officially a different country is really an extention of England the just have accents although not even as strong as Geordie or Scouse. same laws same language same **** holes same ****heads.

Only difference is the English drink Lager the Welsh Guiness.

Wales is as different as Newyorkns to people from Jersey! slight little differences but its the same blood.

The American anthem will get boo`d just as bad and good Americans are pathetically over patriotic.

                Er .... what!

Things I've learned in this thread:
                a) The Welsh and English accents are the same. Erm ... I'd try spending any time in either country before making such a ridiculous comment. There's probably 100 different accents in each. Although avoid North Wales - that's just good sense. And Stoke. Shudder.
                b) Calzaghe is English really, even though he only lived there for 3 months and neither of his parents are.
                c) your passport determines your nationality. Which means that 80% of people living within the good old US of A are without nationality. I suppose it's better than the alternative.

I know you're all busy shooting each other and making sure your trailer isn't swept away in the latest hurricane, but it's no excuse for a poor education. If you can get your fat fingers to turn on your PC and find this website then it's a short leap to www.geta****ingclue.com

I don't think the Americans take Welsh history lessons to be honest

BTW Hatton and Calz are both British, live with it.

But this doesn't go quite that far back, because then the phrase "African-American" wouldn't differentiate anyone from eachother.

And when they mean "antcestry", they mean the possible furthest back tracable bloodline. Which is at earliest 100 BC.
the term black is what uk black people have adopted and it doesn't insult them. as for african american he asked the blacks themselves how they feel about it. so you're butting into his question.
