    Mythical rankings? P4P

According to the top 10 P4P rankings B-Hop has a higher ranking than Calzaghe.. Yet Calzaghe is for good reason the heavy favorite. Jermaine Taylor has beaten B-Hop twice and drew Winky.. Yet both Winky and B-Hop are way ahead of Taylor on the P4P list. There are many more similar examples on this list so my question is.. What is this P4P system really worth if it doesn't even represent who the best fighter is? Is it some tribute to a fighter's past accomplishments? In which case shouldn't we come up with another list that actually ranks fighters in terms of their current abilities? "In theory".. A list where a guy ranked #15 should not be a heavy favorite over a guy ranked #6. I'd be much more interested in a list that actually had information on who "IS" the best and not who "WAS" the best. This is all just in my opinion but any thoughts?

I understand that but what is the point of the ranking system if it doesn't even tell us who is the currently the best? According to this system shouldn't RJJ be automatically awarded top 10 P4P status since he once was great? I mean I'm sure B-Hop was once capable of being very much even with Calzaghe but he isn't anymore. So what is the point of giving him such a high P4p.. It sounds like it's supposed to be a ranking of who is the best not a dated tribute list of relatively active fighters.

U do know that Jermain won both does fights based on activity. B-Hop was the more accurate puncher and many other (Like myself) belive B-Hop won those fights. Which isn't fair because if PBF got the win over DLH shouldn't have B-Hop got his over JT. See where I am getting?

I understand that but don't we go by results? Not by opinions? If we completely disregard what the judges say then Boxing would be in completely chaotic.. In the taylor/bhop.. Bhop hardly through a punch.. We should reward him with top 5 rankings b/c he landed a few scattered shots? Despite arguably losing the fight..

Lifestyle.. Flashy 24/7 my dudes! Thanks.. All i'm saying is I don't understand the point of a ranking system that doesn't have any real information. It doesn't tell us who currently is best in the ring.. and it's not like it tells us who's gonna be an ATG or who's going to the boxing hall of fame. It seems to land right in the middle but unfortunately int his case the middle is useless. I think the P4P list would be a lot cooler if it really represented who would leave the ring on that day as winner of a given fight.

b-hop isn't top p4p cuz he had a great career in the past. he is top 10 cuz he has fought the top opposition in the last 2 years. here, check this topic and it might answer your question a little better ---> http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=164792
