That actually was THE fight for Floyd before he took his sabbatical. He retired out of necessity because he had either Margarito or Cotto to fight which neither brought him big money. But in retrospect, I think Floyd beating Cotto (which I believe would've happened) would've been a great look on Floyd's resume at that time. But hey...

Floyd should've just got it together for one last fight before his career break and showed Cotto the business. I think he was getting tired of the fight game and after 25 mill from DLH and 20 mill from Hatton, fighting Cotto for less wasn't that appealing. Floyd beats the flat footed Cotto 10 rounds to 2 anyway. If it had happened, Cotto's career wouldn't be what it is today. His stock would have taken a massive hit after a huge audience witnessing him get his head boxed off.

How big of a hit did Gattis career take when it was shown he can get his head could be boxed off?

It didn't. Some fighters can lose, and still have a fanbase.

Cotto is one of those guys.

Cotto has class and is a warrior. It's weird hearing him put someone on blast like this.

And just what does Miguel Cotto think of the handpicking, sidestepping and excuse-making antics of Mayweather? "That's the thing he does for his entire career. He run from the really good boxer kind, he choose the others. I don't know how the people who know about boxing put him in the first place in the pound-for-pound champion."

            AHAHAHAHAHA!
