Most only remember his KO loss to Ali (even though it was obviously by exhaustion and he got up at 8) and his slugfest with Ron Lyle where he was dropped twice (got up both times).

Foreman had NO defense in his early career aside from slipping a punch or two, he took punches flush from Frazier, Norton, Ali, Lyle and others.
I never saw him hurt by anyone else except Lyle and Lyle was a hard puncher.

When Foreman came back from retirement he took vicious beatings from Holyfield, Moorer and others and simply refused to go down, he was like a rock.
Jimmy Young in the 15th round, Holyfield stunned him in their fight with a 15 punch combo.

I know but he was ready to go against Lyle, he was about to get knocked out.

Against Young he was dropped but it was nothing serious, pretty much a flash KD.
Ali KO'd him and he was caught by some sharp punches but he was able to get up, he just didn't seem to be able to continue because he was too exhausted.

Holyfield stunned him and hit him like 20-30 times but he didn't go down. The referee could've stopped it though.

I should've worded it "only about to get KO'd by Lyle".

The second Frazier fight is evidence of this. Joe had figured out how to time Foreman's awkward hooks and respond with fully-loaded lefts, none of which deterred Foreman in the least.

I understand, I think he was pretty hurt against Young though, he didn't even know he was knocked down until the referee stepped in front of him and gave him the count and he was suffering from heat exhaustion.

however I rarely see people praising him for his steel chin.
he got hit with opponents biggest punchers, from hooks to uppercuts to overhand rights, and HE STILL KEPT coming forward, like nothing had happend.
incredible , like a brick wall.
his chin was no better than good. he did get hurt when hit clean by good punchers. his chin was good but not great

you should watch the foreman morrison fight, and see for yourself how durable he was.
morrsion didnt set down on anything. cooney hurt him badly with a sloppy looking hook and ken lakusta who cant crack an egg also hurt him badly,,of course all of these fights were in his 2nd career. he had a very good chin in both careers but it wasnt cement
