Commercial Success for the Pretty Boy

First he gets exposed to a wide variety of audience on May 5th 2007.

The World Awaits did 2.4 PPV buys.

That fight opened doors to new main stream oppritunities like Dancing With The Stars. He got exposed to 15-20 million viewers of Old women and ****sexuals which is the main demographic for DWTS.

Then he particpates in a NBA All-Star Celebrities game.

Now he is getting world wide national TV exposure in the WWE, targeting a whole new demographic.... which concists of Teenagers, Trailer Trash and the occasional wrestling fan - you know, like the ones who tuned in for Delahoya-May last year. Paricipating in Wrestlemania, the biggest wrestling event of the year will only help his Superstar status.

Now Money Mayweather did say that he is taking a vacation which is why he pushed the DeLahoya rematch to september even though it could have happened in May again this year. BUT it sure seems like a calculated move on his part.

This gives him plenty of time to do plenty of publicity to make sure that the rematch is even bigger. He definitely deserves the larger split of the purse against Delahoya doing all this extracurricular activity which will definitely help just like 24/7 helps. Delahoya aint doing **** to promote this but be the same old Delahoya as usual and it aint enough this time.

And last......I'm sorry folks. You the die-hard boxingscene fans are gonna have to get used to the fact that you are not the bread and the butter that will help Oscar & Floyd pocket in some nice coin after September. The mainstream fans are what's gonna make this fight big unless you're a tool and do pay to see this fight again for whatever reason only to complain about it the next day for waisting your entire McDonalds paycheck

Why is it sad? Being a worldwide superstar doesn't come easy, specially in a commercially declining sport like boxing. You have to do some work. Even the wrestlers, most of them are on the road 350 days of the year earning their money and fame. It doesn't come easy and Floyd has earned his money. Delahoya is still cashing in off of his Golden Boy fighting image being the same old boring Oscar fight after fight even though he losses them all.

why would Oscar start promoting the fight this early? he has another fight he has to promote and prepare for.

He isn't promoting ****. That fight is already self promoted. It's labeled as a tune-up on free HBO. There you have it. All he has to do is take off his fishnets and put on his business suit a few times and show up at the press-conference smiling. Should be easy.
