Mayweather booed at LA press conference

This is from wrestlingobserver.com. The Mayweather related text is in bold:

The Wrestlemania press conference took place at the Staples Center today in Los Angeles and aired live on The Score in Canada. The only match announced was a Playboy Bunny match, of which they didn't say the rules or participants, only that Candice Michelle & Maria would be a team. No stipulations were announced with Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show, which means either they haven't finalized it (it was changing all week) or it'll be a straight wrestling match, which was the impression. Vince, Coachman, Mike Adamle, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, John Cena, HHH, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Candice Michelle, Maria, Mayweather and Show all spoke. It was funny, because nobody got cheered more than Mysterio, who postponed his biceps surgery until Wednesday. He was there endorsing Mayweather and saying he'd be helping Mayweather out any way he can, although he got booed whenever he said that. Mayweather came out and was booed more than anyone, with chants of "De La Hoya" and "Big Show." He started out trying to be a face, but then turned 100% heel on the crowd. He wore a Yankees jacket, so they knew what they were doing. He was very good at being a heel, and that sat next to Mysterio and acted as friends with him. The reaction I heard from WWE is they thought the booing thus far was because of Los Angeles and not that Mayweather would have to be portrayed as the heel. Since this was Los Angeles, I think how it plays on TV tonight and the announcers portraying him will tell you where their heads are at as far as the national promotion. They acknowledged Shane McMahon as the person who made the deal for the match.

I would agree, except it is harder to pull that off when you have a true giant against a small welterweight. I'm sure the original plan was to use the standard David vs Goliath angle.

The better someone does, the more certain people hate them.

The best fighters in the world like Mayweather and Klitschko take a lot of unfair criticism, while the bums with the 6-18 record or even the journeymen with the 22-11 record are rarely spoken of.

It's because of envy - those people doing the criticism and hating are losers.
