The crowd in Vegas will have a large swath of Brits as well as Americans rooting for Calzaghe. As a war veteran, the booing of our anthem was all that was needed to make me root very hard for Mayweather, who I respect but don't care much for. I'm aware that in British culture they boo the anthems of other countries at soccer games(Dont know the extent of it). That being said, any Brits lucky enough to go to the fight please show class and remain silent during the anthem. Most Americans found it offensive. ALL Americans that have served this country through the armed forces found it offensive.

Yo I live in the U.K and damn near every person I know found the booing reprehensible and in no way representative of the values of the country. The minority should not be held to represent the majority view. That **** shouldn't happen anywhere.

This is what Ill be singing.
Seriously though Im just hoping they dont have R Kelly sing the anthem again. That was more disrespectuful than the booing.Last edited by Crazylegs77; 02-24-2008, 10:21 PM.

Originally posted by MizzzouMan View PostSo after the Americans respectfully stand for the British Anthem your going to sing your anthem again. Cool guy. I cordially invite you to any NFL or other American sporting event where blue-collar people can afford to attend and see you boo an anthem there. You'd get your ass kicked before I had the chance. I've been to many other countries and always tried my best to respect their culture and societal norms. And I'm sure the majority of the UK has plenty of class and decency. Apparently just not the 6000 that were in Vegas at the fight.
2. Not all of the 6,000 booed
3. Who cares? It's only a song
