you can have a personlaisty that likes figting and boxing, but you arnt born an able to block a punch , you learn,

I know that, and that why I said "they were polished more into a boxing style of fighting". But there is that love to fight and that love to get in there and give it all you got. To go in there with Vitali's mentality and say I will win by any means necessary. That fighters mentality, but I just dont see it in Wlad. i have never seen it in him.

Wlad showed a lot of HEART in that fight, he got off the canvas and dominated every single minute of the fight exposing Peter....Wlad took a huge left hook on the chin in the 12th round and came back seconds later with a beautiful counter left hook that hurt Peter badly, Peter is lucky there wasn't a 13th round or he would've been killed....Wlad would KO Peter in a rematch, Guranteed.

Wlad is one of the most talented heavyweights of all time...show some respect.
Wlad is certainly talented with the right things to make his physical attributes work incredibly well, I'll give you that.

But to go from there and all the way to one of the most talented HW's ever is this --------------------------- much of a stretch IMO.

He is gifted with a sharp mind and cautious style, which works well for someone his size. He's also one of the few really big guys that actually might be as strong as they look.
      Always a nice thing.

I just think he is NOT a NATURAL BORN BOXER or FIGHTER. Some people have the bloodline, some people have the fighters instinct, some people are just born to fight. I think he was MADE into a boxer because of his older brother Vitali (who is miles better than wlad) and also because of his imposing figure. I feel the only reason that he has had some success is because of his physique and because of his height. He is just too BASIC and was TAUGHT to box, he didnt grow up in or loving boxing, unlike his brother his is more fluid and not so mechanical. He fell into boxing when Vitali started. Look at other fighters like Lennox, Mike Tyson, Israel Vasquez, Floyd, Cotto, Mijares, Erik Morales. Those are NATURAL BORN fighters and are born to fight. They were not taught to fight, their fighting ability got polished into more of a boxing mode. Just like pit bulls are born to fight, it is in these fighters blood. Now dont get it twisted, I do like Wlad and think him as a person is good for the sport and seems like a very cool guy, but I just dont see it in Wlad, and I think that is why he isnt as good as advertised.
Agreed! When you watch the younger Wlad fight, what we the public see, is a scared fighter. He fights scared. Almost like Jameel McCline. Ok, maybe not as bad as McCline...we all know McCline has fought like a ***** for years so I won't insult Wlad that bad.

I wouldnt go that far, but i would say more like a Michael Grant. Very good fighter with all of the tools, but when worse came to worse he folded. But maybe not that bad.

Spot on. Wlad has never had and never will have a fighter's instinct. It really shocks me that so many people think that this guy is a great fighter. I really believe that his fans are just in love with the idea of him. Sure he's great for the sport. An intelligent, handsome, white, twelve-foot tall polyglot philanthropist with a PhD. ****, he's probably better for the sport than ODLH. He's such a great package that his fan club glazes right over the fact that the guy sucks. They want so badly to believe in this guy that they will go to any length to apolize for him.

Tut, tut! Come on WS, you're better than that. In another thread you mentioned that rebuttals like yours above weren't worth writing.

Before you say a fighter sucks, name another fighter to dominate ALL his fights in the same manor, either by knocking people the f_k out or can outbox at least 80% of all the rounds. Who can avoid punches the way he does and can really brutalize his opponents the way he does.

                    Name one!

If you want to bring his losses into this.. hey, this is the HW divison, and anything is possible.. just like any ATG, he is allowed a bad night.
I really consider Sanders as his true loss... Purity and Brewster I, he punched himself out. Of course all the props to Brewster for getting up and taking that kind of punishment for 4 rounds. But in reality, Wlad really beats those 2 10 out of 10 times no question about it.

All the better. That "fighters" instinct can get you into trouble - first and foremost, you fight with your head. Ali knew that, Foreman didn't.
