I didn't see it cause it would've been a repetitive story, I've seen too many Joe Lewis stories, they all are basically the same.

Joe Lewis story is sad and it shows how great the IRS can be.

It deeply hurt me to watch that, it's sad to see that no one really offered to help the man too. Why did no one put out a lending hand?

That was because he helped bring Coca Cola to Germany. It's not like that was an option for Joe. Schmelling helped Louis out in his later years and they were pretty good friends. What wasn't mentioned was that Louis became good friends with Sonny Liston in Las Vegas. They used to drink Scotch and shoot craps together.

bottom line, he was a good person inside nad outside not to judge his actions,
even when owing to the IRS it could of been worse for anyone else,
being humble at one point pays off.....everyone noticed but his country (IRS)

Let's take it a step further...where was the black support?

Well, they all saw Louis as a Foreman like character, reducing him down to an uncle tom

That was the saddest part of the entire documentary, even in our greatest moments to overcome, we still can't get past putting each other down

I agree that he is a good person but he was naive. That's what I was talkin about. Some of that naiveness affected him for the worse in his life, not all but some of it.

Which is the reason for my emotional outburst regarding Money Mayweather. My personal opinion is, **** patriotism and handle your business. You're only gonna be popular for so long, try to take care of your finances and don't worry if you're beloved. Otherwise you'll end up just another sad story told like this one. Real Talk

holy crap! I was about to create a thread with EXACTLY the same title. crazy.

Yeah that was pretty sad. Joe Louis was a peaceful warrior. This is truley one of the most unfair stories ever. Especially that America helped Shmeling become a millionaire while they taxed Louis for Millions when he didn't even have the money. ****ing pricks.
