Sanders lost to Vitali and Vitali`s titles passed to Rahman then Maskaev, if the Maskaev Peter winner fights Vitali then that lineage will be cemented and the winner will hold the true WBO lineage back to Herbie Hide as well as teh WBC lineage from Lewis, Vitali retired as Ring CHAMP and in some eyes Lineal, Vitali was THE man, the WBC situation ha sall the cards to give us the true champ. Wlad may be more well known, more fancied but the lineage of both of his belts comes from nowhere. Did anybody consider Byrd champion when he held a vacated IBF strap while Lewis was THE man? Byrd lost it to Golota before he lost it to Wlad anyway!
The WBC belt was vacated TWICE this decade. It means LESS than the other three belts at this point. The lineage does not go back to Lewis. Lewis did not lose his belt. Vitali won it against Sanders and then also never lost it. Rahman was GIVEN the belt, could not even beat Toney, all in an effort to trick the public into thinking there were still Americans at the top of the division. But Rahman lost to Oleg Maskaev of all people. Oleg defended once against a Nigerian no one had ever seen.
