** Maybe you'd like to bring back the Richard Dunns, Brian Londons, the brittle Cleveland Williams off their death beds, bloody Sir 'enerys, the little bitty Pattersons, and the rest of the golden era Lions of Flanders Coopmans to float your boat.

I remember how lefty boxer/soccer player Mildenberger gave prime Ali so many problems and actually had Ali hurt briefly. Maybe you should be glad a bigger, stronger, trickier Sultan hadn't been in the ring that night instead of dredging up all this heavyweight division stinks.

The only thing missing today is a quitting and diving ring legend like Liston to fluff up Wlad's record.

Guys like Teddy Atlas aren't ******, but they get paid to be blowhards and throw out zippy zingers like clubfighters wing punches. Nothing wrong with Atlas picking Sultan who has proven to be a first rate fighter thus far, but his diminishment of the most talented heavy to come down the pike since Lewis pretty much exposes him as behind the times.

Maybe the sport has passed him by, but at the end of the day, not many will be remembering Atlas, but they will remember Wlad and his fine record as a new era of heavyweight boxing is ushered in sans soft Americans.

Guys like Atlas maybe should be thinking about their own jobs as boxing is being overtaken by Eastern Euros and Latinos and Caribbean Latinos have taken over most of the starting positions in baseball. Baseball and boxing have always mirrored ongoing historical developments in American culture.
