Yes it does. It didn't really matter for Roy in his heyday to keep his hands up and the same goes for Gamboa.

Some people hate americas goverment and their policies but they will defend America to no end. He might hate the way Cuba's gov't may be. However he won't forget who he is or where he came from.

Gamboa looked great as usual. But like ive been saying since his pro debut, he needs to keep them dam hands up! He did get caught with 1 good shot in that fight. Great prospect, glad to see him fighting in Florida and not in Germany anymore. He was also in there with a guy who knows how to handle himself, I thought it would be much more competitive than that. Good stuff.

He hasn't really stepped up in competition. I think he's still a prospect.

His best challenge is David Estrada or Cosme Rivera.

He hasn't fought a former world champion yet, or anyone in the top 10.

I think he is still a prospect.

It seems like a lot of Cuban defectors wear the flag though:

                  Casamayor, Hurtado, Gamboa, etc.

It just seems strange to me.

True against the elite level fighters he might have to keep his hands up a little more, but like I said earlier his reflexes are so fast and he seems so natural that I think he may be able to get away with it.
